R.M.Williams

As a proud Australian-owned company with a 70-year commitment to bush outfitting and heritage, R.M.Williams is proud to be the presenter of the Warner Village Theme Park production, Australian Outback Spectacular. This unique production will play an important role in communicating our nation’s outback culture to domestic and international tourists in an exciting and engaging format.

Company Background & History

R.M.Williams was established more than 70 years ago by Australian legend and company founder Reginald Murray (“R.M.”) Williams, who ventured into the Australian Outback in his teens and learnt outback lore and craft skills under the guidance of an itinerant saddler called Dollar Mick. Together they created saddlery and stock line boots that would later become a signature line of the R.M.Williams enterprise.

Since then, the company has expanded locally and globally and built a world-wide reputation as Australia’s Outback Outfitter and a quality maker of handcrafted Australian boots, clothing and leather accessories for men, women and more recently, children. R.M.Williams has 18 retail stores in Australia, as well as stores in New Zealand (Auckland and Christchurch), New York City and London. In addition to this, there are more than 900 stockists of R.M.Williams product in Australia and overseas.

The R.M.Williams Stockyard range is purpose designed for the men and women who work in Australia’s outback and remains at the heart of the R.M.Williams company. Think R.M.Williams elastic-sided work boots such as the Yard or Mallee boot and top boots such as the Cloncurry; hard-wearing cotton Brigalow work shirts that have been a staple of the company’s bush outfitting for more than 50 years; Bone moleskin riders that have stood the test of time and Legends denim riding jeans; a Hobble leather work belt and a signature R.M.Williams designed Akubra hat called the Longhorn.

R.M.Williams quality footwear, clothing and accessories have remained relevant to its core outback and rural customers but have more recently appealed to a broader customer base who value quality, authenticity, functionality and style – regardless of where they live and work. In addition to its Stockyard range, R.M.Williams releases seasonal ranges every year – Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter.

R.M.Williams is committed to bush heritage. R.M.Williams supports the Australian Stockmans Hall of Fame in Longreach (of which R.M was a pioneer) and presents the R.M.Williams Outback Stockman’s Show at the Hall, operates its own R.M.Williams Rodeo School and manages the R.M.Williams Outback Heritage Museum at the company’s 5 Percy St Prospect store in Adelaide, the site of the first R.M.Williams workshop. The company publishes the successful OUTBACK Magazine, which tells the stories of the characters and places of Australia’s outback heartland. The company is also an active fundraiser for the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
